RAPIDA CLASS D3 vinyl glue
WATER-RESISTANT Pvac adhesive for assembly work in the wood sector
The VINIL 157 product is used as a single-component adhesive for wood and its substitutes when water-based bonding resistance is required according to the D3 durability class of the EN 204 standard.
VINIL 157 glue is specifically indicated for assembly work in general and for any other demanding carpentry work.
USEFUL TIPS FOR USE
To satisfy this need it is necessary that the application of the adhesive, in the quantity of approx. 150 g/m², occurs on both sides of the assembly. Furthermore, the glued joint must be subjected to a pressure of 0.5÷1.0 N/mm² for 1-2 hours. Glued joints subjected to direct heat or high frequencies can cause color changes on the glue line especially in the case of light wood species. Any modification of the product that involves an alteration of the pH may compromise the D3 durability class. We therefore recommend the use of inorganic fillers (<10% of the dispersion), such as calcium sulphate dihydrate, instead of calcium carbonate or other alkaline filler. To further increase water resistance and reach the D4 durability class, it is necessary to add disocyanate: the recommended quantity is 5 pp. of additive per 100 pp. of VINYL 157. In this case it is necessary to check the usage time of the mixture, which can vary, depending on the additive used, from 8÷10 hours to 2÷3 days.
